INTRODUCTION

the Impulse Gundam, not my very favorite Gundam design, specially with the color scheme of the force impulse, but still nice looking and with that two excalibur, this definitely is one badass mobile suit..:D this is a 2009 kit so definitely there's some improvement from it's force impulse counterpart..on with the review...

HEAD UNIT

this has to be my favorite part of this mobile suit, the head looks really menacing, kinda nice cause it's a protagonist but it looks evil..>:D the build was like any other MG head but there's a little something different with it, the vents on the side of the heads have that separate inner detail so that's new, well for me atleast,.and i like how the chin(black) and the red part for the eyes are molded in it's actual colors, that's very nice cause it's such small parts and it'd be a pain to paint.overall very nice.

BODY UNIT

now the body is something i don't like that much about this kit, with the design it's alright, but it's kind of loose, the abdomen where the core slendor rests often pops out when i'm posing him, it's not that much of a problem cause it's also that easy to pop back in but still, it could have been done a lot better, maybe with more locks to secure it.and the joints for the arms are kinda loose also i think it's because of the transformation.
for the waist it kinda reminded me of Strike Gundam's waist, mainly because of the sideskirts where the fold able daggers are kept.for this i'll just give it an 8.

ARM UNIT

the arms were pretty simple, not much details or gimmicks.i wonder what's the gimmick for the elbow cause it's really loose and i don't think it's mechanism even has a purpose. the shoulders are also kinda weak, it's easy to move around, though it stays on so it's not that of a big deal. and the pegs on the hands are kinda useless cause it doesn't really slot in on the swords..i'll give it an 8.

LEG UNIT

the legs are very solid, has that mechanism for the thigh(typical for gundam seed MGs),the joints are very stiff which is always good for holding aerial poses.it's also very detailed so it's a definite 10 for me..

WEAPONS/BOOSTER/EXTRAS & FINAL VERDICT

for the backpack(sword silhouette) it's also very detailed, has a few moving parts, not much going on with it besides the wings turning into a boomerang or two beam daggers.

it comes with a beam rifle and a shield, not much going on with the beam rifle but the shield is very nice cause it transforms, it extends, kinda reminds me of Unicorn Gundam's shield.

now for the highlight of this kit, the two excalibur, this has to be my all time favorite sword design, it has a sliding gimmick when you will place the beam effect, the sword extends.this is what the sword impulse is all about and for me it's one of the greatest weapon designs out there.

final verdict:
should you buy this kit? DEFINITELY! sure it has a few minor problems, i mean what kit doesn't, right? this is still one of the best MGs out there..:D

Was going to review the force impulse today, but decided to put it off til tomorrow. Guess this what happens when you procrastinate lol

Good review tho. Will definitely pick up the sword impulse somewhere down the line.

Cool. I'm still waiting for a display base in the mail before I take pics, so in the meantime I might review something else.
