Aha, Shagia Frost's Gundam from the Gundam X series. The worst of the bad guys but his unit turned out to be quite an impressive feat even in the non-graded 1/144 version. I planned on finding the 1/100 HG version but couldn't find. I resorted to this since my goal is actually to collect mostly 1/100 whenever possible. Let's start with the kit.

1/144 Non-Grade series from G Gundam, Gundam Wing, and Gundam X are all more impressive than the Seed series. The head comes from 2 red/crimson pieces to form the outer shell of the head. Black piece forms the head. Stickers go for the eyes and golden foil stickers make the colours for the antennae and chin. Pretty detail for a small scaled unit.

Although quite detailed but the details mostly come from stickers especially golden foils. 2 main colours of parts come together to make up the body with others being stickers or paint. The wings at the back are also very interesting.

The arm can EXTEND? LOL. The arms can really extend just like the show to burst fire (?). The claws are done by golden foil stickers but comes in quite nicely. Still faraway from the 1/100 HG version that has golden plated claws. The arms for older non-grade 1/144 have seperate pieces between upper and lower arms.

The legs are pretty standard non-graded type material although still better than the 1/144 Seed Series Non-Grades. The bottom knees and the thighs are seperate pieces while the feet is molded in one single colour, black. The upper facet of the feet requires crimson paint to detail it up.

The only weapon available is the Beam Saber molded in whole black rather than no beam sabers (as in the 1/144 Non Grade Seed Series). I love how this guy hold the weapons perfectly (the fist is a polycap piece and is not flexible). Anyway, a 500 yen kit for this one really is something worth your every buck. The main problem is whether you can still find this guy around toy shops.
