INTRODUCTION
The Hyakushiki with its not so significant Mega Bazooka Launcher. The launcher was an early design where it was later developed as the Hyper Mega Launcher for the Zeta. The launcher requires an additional mobile suit to power it and normally the Methuss. Let's just skip the minor details.
|
HEAD UNIT
Compared to the MG version, the HGUC version had similar parts but in smaller size. Almost similar parts for the head which includes red parts for the whole eyes and mouth. A really black seal develops the eye shape. Antenna goes at the back and of course similar to the MG version, the red tip needs to be detailed on your own. Face mask is also an essential just like the MG one. Nice!
|
BODY UNIT
Less complicated due to a few factors. One, there is no inner frame which in turn simplifies the construction deeply. Two, the cockpit does not open and the torso plates do not slide in and out. Three, the parts are smaller. I would say that for a HG, the design is very nicely done and is quite firm too.
|
ARM UNIT
I like arms that are less complicated. This is one that I love. The arms do not have complicated inner frames and the outer detail is given due importance. Most of the details are already there. The shoulder parts are also simpler and there are a pair of Dry Transfer Decals of the Kanji word "HYAKU" meaning Hundred in japanese to be placed on the shoulders.
|
LEG UNIT
Quite simple but still a bit loose. Can't position it the way I should go to the launcher. Still, the balancing of this kit goes far beyond the MG version (the one with Ballute System). Some of the injection engines of the legs can be seen too.

WEAPONS/BOOSTER/EXTRAS & FINAL VERDICT
Here's the big bit of the kit. If bandai would've released an MG version of this, it might be priced at a PG price for sure. Besides the standard weapons for the Hyaku Shiki which includes the Clay Bazooka, Beam Rifle, and 2 fully clear Beam Sabers (yes fully clear from top to bottom design for this one), the main monster of this kit is the Mega Bazooka Launcher. Somehow I felt that Bandai had given greater emphasis on the Hyaku Shiki than the Launcher causing the launcger to lose certain details. Still, the launcher can extend and retract and the handles can be folded for Hyaku Shiki to hold it in flight mode. Gotta get an action base for this pose. The down point is that the launcher's base was supposedly grey but was given blue together with the launcher's body moldings. However, this kit can integrate with another HGUC kit, the Methuss HGUC. The wires from the Methuss can be attached to the launcher just like in the show and this completes the whole set. A 1800yen kit with such features, a must have for fans of mecha and Gundam.
